A dream come true

For anyone reading this, who doesn’t know, a while back on 2nd March we’d been trundling around the Midlands looking for something to benefit our retirement.

It’s been a dream of mine for many years, in fact more years than I can remember, and I’d been saving hard for a long time, T was never really that interested, so I assumed my purchase would be a very old one, and it would be for just me and the dogs to escape in, but about 18 months ago, he announced that WE were going to get one, but not until I retired. Those months dragged, but eventually I retired last December and we started looking.

Well we’ve finally got it this week!! ย and atย last we can escape the rat race, the crowds and venture off the beaten track, and in comfort too as the old bones aren’t what they used to be.

It is a 2005 Autocruise Starspirit, made in Yorkshire, which can’t be bad ๐Ÿ˜‰ ย One previous owner, who had kept it emaculate. Lots of little extras, an awning on the side, a solar panel on the roof to charge the leisure battery, a well hidden safe (took us a while to find it and we knew it had one), a bike rack, and a gas sensor alarm. I’ve read horrific stories of folk parking up at night, waking up the next morning, finding the van ransacked after having had sleeping gas pumped into the van, hopefully we’ll never find ourselves in that situation, but the added security of that sensor is quite reassuring. It’s even got an external shower, though doubt that’ll get used in this country, except by Sal & Jasp. ๐Ÿ˜€

The adventure starts now!!

      • Gotta laugh at your last question. I was writing it in my head walking to the shops ๐Ÿ˜€

Do you want me to send it across later this arvo?

Sal eased the Mh carefully onto the road ……

          • Don’t forget Sal is driving ๐Ÿ™‚ And Jasp needs to have a huge sack of biccies next to him ๐Ÿ˜€

Sorry about today’s instalment. Got distracted replying to a question on roughseas about what is the attraction of Gib? (thornberrie below wd obviously say the wembley bar and the matchbox!)

  1. A Photowagon (pronounced with a V) ๐Ÿ™‚ I am in search of a LWB van to convert into a Photowagon, cuts out the early drives in search of sunrises when you can set up somewhere the night before and then just stroll out to your chosen site with a mug of tea in your hand ๐Ÿ™‚
