13th January? hmmm, probably a bit cold for a teddy bears’ picnic.
A short drive from home, just south of the medieval town of Alcester heading towards Stratford on Avon are Oversley Woods, a circular 2.5 mile track meanders round the Forestry Commission maintained woodland. An easy walk for the older dog, I have done many a happy walk there, and in 2008 it was the last proper outing I had with my old boy Harry before he left for the Bridge.
I’m not a great lover of woodland walks, often getting quite a claustrophobic feel from the domineering trees, especially when I can’t see the sky, but as this walk is very open I never get it here.
There are several seats dotted around dedicated to some person or other who also enjoyed the tranquil area.
Jasper & Sal my 2 rescue dogs with Tony (no it wasn’t warm enough for a picnic, he wears shorts 365 (oops, that’ll be 366 this year) days a year)
Big Jasper, my very own teddy bear 🙂
